Culvert Cleaner a Winner for Council Combating Back Flooding

The rainy season always brings issues for the Kojonup Council, WA as culverts clog up with mud and silt, resulting in back flooding. As a result they came to Kerrick in search of a compact culvert cleaner that could handle whatever the rainy season had to throw at it.

Kerrick’s engineers designed a skid mounted culvert cleaner with a powerful 24 HP Honda motor and Hawk pump operating at 2000 psi with a flow of 40 lpm. The Italian manufactured Hawk pumps have a good reputation for dealing with intermittent drain cleaning applications. The pressure and flow of this unit combined with a Warthog nozzle. With forward cleaning jets and backward facing thrust ports, the Warthog nozzle is ideally suited for the rapid clearing of culverts.

The skid was fitted with fork lift tines to allow the culvert cleaner to be lifted onto the back of utes or onto site as required. For ease of handling, a high pressure hose reel with 20 meters of high pressure hose was fitted to the skid, allowing the operators to equipment easily and freely access culverts with minimal resistance.
With a 40 litre per minute pump, the unit can also be configured for multiple operator water blasting, providing the Council with great value for money.
